A Team for Every Child

This is a donation driven program that provides sports scholarships for youth to participate in team sports. Participation in team sports acts as a buffer against adverse childhood experiences. Participation in organized sports nurtures a supportive and competitive environment that these children need in order to thrive.

FBSMV Coalition

Founded in 2003, Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley emerged from a coalition concerned about the impact of drugs and alcohol on local youth and families. Our mission is to partner with all members of the community to achieve resilience against substance abuse, reduce violence, and promote a healthy and safe environment for our youth and families.

This program provides education and resources to help students avoid sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It includes lessons on the different types of STDs, how they are transmitted, and how to prevent them.

Truancy Prevention

This board is responsible for reviewing the attendance records of students who have been absent from school without a valid excuse. The board may recommend disciplinary action or other interventions to help students improve their attendance.

Youth Action Coalition

This is a dedicated group of local junior high and high school students who are passionate about combating violence, drugs, and alcohol issues in their schools and community. They provide peer-to-peer support, raise awareness through various initiatives like Youth Rallies and Town Hall Meetings, host prevention and intervention programs, and advocate for important community issues. These young people actively volunteer and collaborate with the community to create positive change.

Free 4 the Weekend

This is a community collaboration thrown by the FBSMV Coalition to provide free, fun, and engaging activities for kids to participate. Providing free activities for kids allows them to be free and have fun in a safe environment instead of being in the streets and getting into violence and drugs.
